Local Cut Flowers coming to a market near you this spring 2024
My name is Christina, I have been a gardener for over 10 years. While out in my garden, I experience a great deal of peace. Through the peace I have felt while getting my hands into the soil, I noticed I was able to self reflect more than I have ever been able to do in the past. The ability to self reflect in an environment filled with my most favorite things, has added a whole new level of therapy. watching flowers grow from seed to bloom has helped heal my mind, heart and soul. This past 2022 season I ventured out and started to grow cut flowers in my vegetable garden. Not surprising at all, I was instantly hooked.
I began to design and block out a new garden to incorporate cut flower beds, and it ended up expanding into also building a greenhouse.
Since we are able to use our available land in any way we wish, I decided I would expand the cut flower garden even more. This is where Healing Blooms Flower Farm was born. I realized that I would be able to plant and harvest enough flowers for myself and others to enjoy on a commercial scale. This next spring season in 2023 will be the beginning of my cut Flower journey. I plan to sell at farmers markets and hope to supply the triangle with beautiful locally grown flowers to use in weddings. I am also hoping to start a CSA Flower subscription service where customers can drop by every Friday to grab their weekly bouquet.
Stay tuned for more information and announcements.
I think the most important gift I have received from the decision to expand my garden to incorporate cut flowers is the people I have met and have become friends with. I am deeply inspired by the relationships the have been built over such a short period of time. Shout out to my teacher/mentor Lisa Mason Ziegler of Gardeners Workshop. Without her, this new endeavor would have been so stressful and confusing.
